Highlight: The San Francisco Annual Design Week

San Francisco Design Center hosted its annual Design Week which started on the 4th of February with the Tech Design Conference and ended on the 7th, with the Designers of Distinction Awards Luncheon. We were completely blown away by the sophistication and organization of each event; and as this was the premier SFDC event of the year, it only made sense to launch our platform in front of the esteemed members of the interior design community.

On the first day of interior design/market week, We presented Bellvine alongside Ivy, Houzz, Coupar, Design Barre, Autodesk, and Dering Hall at TechDesign’19. Attended by 160 designers, the Luxe SF event co-sponsored by Walker Zanger and the SFDC was an exhilarating success and we got to demo and chat about our platform that took two years of diligent labor and love to make! We were blown away by the positive feedback, and were so happy to share the spotlight with such big names in the industry!
We didn’t have time to rest from our big presentation, as on the 5th, Bellvine sponsored a panel discussion held at the Hewn showroom with reception celebrating the launch of Bellvine with over 200 designers and manufacturers in attendance. Our friend, Jeff Holt of Hewn co-hosted the launch with Bellvine founder, Heather Sawtelle, and helped highlight the benefits the platform brings to its manufacturers, showrooms, and interior designers. Bellvine also provided the swag-bags for the event, which were snagged up immediately!

Hewn hosted delectable nibble and drinks at its showroom, and notable figures from the industry such as Madeline Stuart, Justin Van Breda, Ted Boerner and Candace Cavanaugh were in attendance. Our whirlwind of a week led us to meet incredible people from California and beyond, with everyone expressing their enthusiasm for the birth of Bellvine.

On Wednesday, we visited Baker’s sleek and beautiful showroom for a glimpse of interior connoisseur, Jean-Louis Deniot. A day of book signings, we couldn’t stop ourselves from buying not one but three copies of Kerry Joyce’sThe Intangible! At the book signing, we shared a number of mirth filled stories with the inimitable Diane Dorrans Saeks and Kerry Joyce-ranging from stories about delicious, freshly squeezed pomegranate juice in India to (on a more earnest and serious note) the importance of a great name for any business. “Bellvine” got a big thumbs up by Diane Dorrans Saeks and there is no feeling better than getting recognized by people you look up to the most in the industry! As if the day couldn’t get better, we had a great time catching up with our interior design friends at the De Sousa Gallery Cocktail Hour.

Thursday, the grand finale of market week ended with the biggest celebration; the Designers of Distinction Awards Luncheon, hosted by the charming Michael Boodro. Grateful that we got seated right in front with our friends from Hewn and Martin Richards, we got to witness the creme de la creme of the design world receive their well deserved awards. Congratulations to every single person who was nominated and especially to all the winners. We cannot wait to see how your portfolio continues to grow and blossom!
