Last week we left our homebase in the Bay Area to go to LA’s most happening event; The Pacific Design Center’s annual West Week, where we got to see many old friends and make new ones.
This year’s West Week was a celebration of “Artists and Artisans” that nods to the craftsmanship of yesteryear, and looks forward at the future of design. It was hosted from March 20th to 21st, packed with influential voices of the design industry. With around four thousand expert designers, skilled manufacturers, showroom representatives and enthusiasts in attendance, we caught an exciting glimpse of California’s finest.
The charm of West Week was in the details; the energy and excitement was palpable and all events ran like a well oiled machine. Keynote events were high in demand, starting from Steele Marcoux, editor in chief of VERANDA kicking things off followed by a lovely celebration at Thibaut + Arte + Egg & Dart on Wednesday and ending with Erika Heet from Interiors at A. Rudin on Thursday. We are constantly inspired by the talent in our field who are changing the landscape and we came out of the experience with a ton of inspiration and gratitude.
.A major highlight for us was making new friends who loved Bellvine and all that we are doing as the future of design. A special thank you and shoutout goes to Arianne Nardo of Business of Home, who took time out for us even though she was clearly the woman of the hour after her keynote and panel discussion. The crowd was spilling out the door at her last event held at Donghia! Same thanks to Patrick O’ Bryan and Erika Heet of Interiors Magazine for chatting with Heather Sawtelle, the founder of Bellvine.
Time after time, we are blown away by painstaking effort showrooms go through to produce masterpiece after masterpiece, room by room. Our friend Laurie Ghielmetti did a marvellous job (yet again!) of choosing and placing the artwork for the exquisite Kneedler Fauchere.
Donghia revealed their lovely newly showroom during Nardo’s panel discussion with interior designers Erinn Valencich and Adam Hunter. We had the pleasure of getting a tour of Holly Hunt’s exquisite showroom by our dear friends and #BellvineShowroom Design Alliance LA. Thank you Geoff Wallace and Steve Nielsen for being our champions, we continue to thrive because of you support!
Congratulations to the Pacific Design Center for smoothly pulling off such an impressive range of events in just two days. We look forward to attending the event next year, we are sure it will be a great success!
